CSS Profile School Code Numbers are four-digit codes you use to submit your application to colleges you are interested in. These four-digit codes are added to your CSS Profile. This allows the identified school to receive your CSS Profile application upon submission. There is no limit to the number of CSS Profile School Code Numbers you can use. However, it’s important to know that, unlike the FAFSA, there is a charge per school with the CSS Profile.

Find School Code Numbers When Completing the CSS Profile

While the all-in-one list of CSS Profile school codes the College Board provides is very convenient, you can also search for your school’s CSS Profile Code Number while you’re completing the application. Here are the steps:

  • Log into the CSS Profile

  • Under ‘Application Checklist’ select ‘Edit Answers’ for ‘Academic Information’

  • Advance to the section ‘Program Selection’

  • If you don’t already have the CSS Profile Code Number, you can input College/Program Name or State to search using those categories

  • Once you find your school, select the link under the college to add it to your list
